Weather forecast

Status yellow weather warnings are in place for strong winds and high seas in all counties along the Atlantic coast, and for snow showers with some accumulations in Ulster and Connacht.

Met Éireann is forecasting a bitterly cold and blustery day, with wintry showers and snow staying on the ground in the northern half of the country and on high ground elsewhere.

Showers will become confined to western areas at night. Top temperatures of 1°C to 4°C will remain largely unchanged at night.
