June 2020 milk supply is up despite a lack of rain hampering grass growth in the east. Our survey results show milk supply is up between 3% and 5% for the big milk processors compared with the same month in 2020.

The May trend of milk volume increase continued into June

The CSO reported the June 2019 figure at 994bn litres, a 7.5% lift on the 2018 figure. Our tally results this week suggest the June 2020 supply will have gone up another 40m litres, comfortably breaking the 1bn-litre mark.

Dairygold estimates that supply is up 3% and Lakeland is up 5%. The west Cork co-ops are up between 3% and 6%. Kerry Group supply bounced up 3.3% in June.
