When did you set up your business and why?

Our story begins in November 2020 when we lost someone very special to us: our mom and Janna's nan, Betty. Her passing left a tremendous void in all our lives.

We had wanted to create something for many years and this lifechanging experience was the driving force behind the creation of One Fifty.

Light has always been an integral part of the One Fifty family. Betty had a passion for light and scent that she passed down to each of us.

Through our creation of scent, her legacy lives on. Her parting gift to us, unbeknownst to her, was One Fifty. She lies at the heart of all we create.

Can you explain your process?

At One Fifty, we curate exquisite scents and unforgettable experiences in the world of luxury candle bars and scent houses, using 100% soy wax and fragrance oils.

Our handcrafted scents are made from nature’s finest ingredients, reflecting our commitment to excellence and sustainability.

As a female-led, family-owned brand, we draw inspiration from influential mothers, creating a sense of heritage and empowerment.

We do all of the above, with environmental stewardship to the forefront. We’re dedicated to minimising our ecological footprint, continuously innovating sustainable practices to protect our planet.

Where at all possible, this is the ethos behind our production, packaging and all aspects of our business.

What is your best-selling candle?

Our best-seller in our Goddess collection is Hera. This scent brings a blend of nuanced masculine warmth. It is both comforting and spirited. This woody scent is full of luxury, empowerment and depth.

What is it about your business that brings you joy?

Crafting an immersive and unforgettable journey. Meticulously curated vessels and packaging, enchanting playlists, exclusive events and captivating pop-up soirées ensure an unparalleled sensory voyage.

Bringing this luxury to our customer is the ultimate job satisfaction for the team at One Fifty.

What are your hopes for 2023?

Our hopes for 2023 are to have a successful, profitable business that focuses on bringing moments of indulgence to the lives of our customers.

We have a long-term goal for the business that will see the opening of a flagship store in Tralee, Co Kerry. You have to aim high and dream big – this is all part of our five-year business plan.
