Lakeland Dairies is the second processor to announce its milk price for November, increasing by 1c/l from October.

Suppliers in the Republic of Ireland will receive 31.63c/l excluding VAT for milk supplied in November.

This includes a bonus of 0.94c/l excluding VAT that will also be paid for November milk.

Northern suppliers

A base price of 27.55p/l will be paid for November milk in Northern Ireland, the same base price as October. This includes a November milk bonus of 1p/l.

The normal out-of-season bonus of 3p/litre applies.

A spokesperson for Lakeland Dairies said: “The dairy markets are delicately poised as we move into Christmas, with a variable balance between supply and demand worldwide. In Europe, we are still seeing gains being made in production.

“Buyers are remaining cautious into 2021 as they await to see how supply, Brexit and COVID-19 will look in the early months of next year. In terms of prices, there has been little in the way of movement for many of the main products.”

Glanbia member milk suppliers will receive 29.89c/l, excluding VAT, for November milk at 3.6% butterfat and 3.3% protein.

An additional payment of 0.5c/l will be made on all supplies to mark the launch of the company's operation biodiversity, aiming to drive increased planting of native trees and hedgerows.
