An impressive fleet of 10 Deutz Fahr tractors supplied by Hunter Kane & Son ranging from 50hp to 250hp were on show at the Pöttinger tillage demonstration last Thursday in Limavady, Co Derry.

The lads from Hunter Kane & Son as well as Ben Stokes, Paul Wilson and Diarmuid Claridge from Pöttinger Ireland put six of the tractors through their paces with a variety of Pöttinger implements.

There was another event in Moira, Co Armagh, on the Wednesday. The aim was to demonstrate the full range of tillage equipment the family-owned Austrian company has to offer.

The Synkro tined stubble cultivator, Lion power harrow, Terradisc disc harrow, Servo plough and Aerosem drilling technology were all on show. Two Impress balers and one Jumbo wagon were some of what was on display in the field.

Farmers and contractors at the demonstration days showed keen interest, with TAMS II grants being a great incentive for buyers.

The new Servo 45 M Plus Nova five-furrow plough gathered a lot of attention, along with two Aerosem 3002 ADD seed drills (3m). One Aerosem was set up as a one-pass combination with the Lion 3002 power harrow and the other was coupled with a TerraDisc 3001 disc harrow.

This was to show the fact the drill can be easily married up with other equipment, allowing for mixing and matching if conditions are not suitable for a particular machine.
