It is with horror that I see the front page photo on last week’s edition, 21 October, of men using chainsaws without protection.
They are wearing high vis jackets and ear muffs which are of little use if a chain breaks or if the saw kicks back. The pictures on pages 14 and 15 of last week’s edition show a man with his bare arm while using the chainsaw. No wonder there are so many farm accidents. Ironically, on pages 49 to 54 you had an excellent article on chainsaw protection. The difference in the photos is startling. I ask you to highlight the danger exposed in these pictures.
