A Keenan of a different sort is coming on the market in March – the MechFiber365 die-cast replica model mixer wagon.

The 1:32 model is a replica of the wagon designed to prepare complex nutritious feeds, blending straw, pulps, cereal, grass and maize silage into a rich feed.

Constructed of die-cast metal with plastic parts, it has a paddle motion that rotates as it is pushed along.

It has twin axels with detailed tyres and can hitch onto any Britains tractor.

Next Thursday, Keenan and Britains are to host an interactive agricultural awareness afternoon for more than 150 local school students at the production facility in Borris, Co Carlow, at 10am.

Invited attendees on the day will get a first look at the MechFiber365 model ahead of its release later this month.

Agri Aware will also be in attendance with its mobile farm.

On the day, Keenan representatives will hold a number of educational presentations, which will appeal to agricultural science students from the local secondary school, and there will also be workshops for the up-and-coming farmers of the future from the local primary school.

The Keenan production facility will be open exclusively to attendees for guided tours, which will provide an insight into how the machines are manufactured, using the latest engineering techniques.
