Many growers missed the window for autumn weed control last year due to poor weather. Growers are reporting that weed levels in these unsprayed fields are still relatively low due to the slow spring.

However, as spring hopefully kicks into gear soon, growers can expect a flush of grass and broadleaved weeds coming through in the next number of weeks. While many farmers have been able to spray some crops in the last number of weeks, others will be out when conditions next dictate.

So what are the options for winter crop weed control? The Irish Farmers Journal invited Terrachem's Gary Beirne, Bayer's James Burn and TP Whelehan's Chris Maughan to discuss the options still available this spring.
