Women in agriculture conference hosted by UCC Macra na Feirme society
The conference will be hosted by James Healy, president of Macra na Feirme, and will include a panel consisting of Marie Martin, Louise Crowley and Mairead Lavery.
The UCC Macra na Feirme society will host a women in agriculture conference, discussing matters from social issues to success stories, at 8pm on Thursday 21 March in the Western Gateway Building, University College Cork.
The conference will be hosted by James Healy, Macra na Feirme president and will include a panel consisting of Marie Martin, Louise Crowley and Mairead Lavery.
Marie Martin is a fourth-year UCC student who established Martin’s Safety Equipment after an accident occurred on her family farm in Kerry. Louise Crowley is the current holder of the Queen of the Land title and works as a part-time farmer.

Louise has a vast experience in the agricultural sector and is also a very active member of Macra na Feirme. The final speaker will be Mairead Lavery of the Irish Farmers Journal. Mairead has pursued a successful career in agricultural journalism and has published many stories of successful women in the agricultural sector.
There will be free admission with light refreshments served before the conference. Come along and support what is sure to be an interesting and informative evening listening to these successful women discussing their experiences.
