Rough Magic
2-3 November: Siamsa Tíre in county Kerry welcomes Rough Magic, with a brand-new stage adaptation, in a dizzying interpretation of James Joyce’s first novel, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. The classic is brought to life by a dynamic, new, creative ensemble of actors and designers under Ronan Phelan’s direction. Following its successful premiere run at Dublin Theatre Festival, Rough Magic focuses on the spiritual rebellion of Stephen Dedalus and his restless search for artistic self-expression. 2 November: Directed by Donovan Marsh Hunter Killer hits Irish cinemas this Friday. An untested American submarine captain teams with U.S. Navy Seals to rescue the Russian president, who has been kidnapped by a rogue general. Starring Caroline Goodall, Gary Oldman and Gerard Butler, this 15A rated action thriller is not to be missed. Route 66
2 November: Route 66 take to the stage at the Source Arts Centre, Thurles, county Tipperary, this Friday night. The 16-piece Big Band with a difference have been a huge success in theatres all over Leinster for the past three years.
