Last Thursday’s sale saw an entry of about 600 cattle on offer. We split the bullocks from the heifers to make the numbers more manageable while adhering to the social distancing rules. The trade overall was good and steady, with little change in prices. Some plainer-quality weanling bulls were a little easier than the previous week. There was very strong demand for sucklers, with a top price of €1,980 paid for a cow and calf team. We implemented new procedures here in recent weeks which did work quite well, despite being difficult to implement. We are thankful to the farmers for co-operating with us.
