Communities across Scotland who are yet to receive superfast broadband in their area are set to benefit from the delivery of a new programme aiming to help roll out broadband across the country.

Earlier this week, Connectivity Secretary Fergus Ewing announced the introduction of the two strategic groups – one covering the north and the other covering the central and southern areas of the R100 programme – which will exchange knowledge and information between key local agencies and the Scottish Government.

Mr Ewing said: “As we move towards delivery of our commitment to extend superfast broadband to 100% of homes and businesses in Scotland – the only part of the UK to do so – I look forward to hearing what these groups have to say, when we meet in Inverness and Hamilton in the coming weeks.”
