A Galway butchers was forced to close by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) after rodent droppings were found in the food business.
F Herterich’s Pork Butchers, 1 Lombard Street, Galway, was served a closure order under the FSAI Act, 1998.
It was issued on 10 January and the butchers reopened on 23 January.
The closure order said “rodent droppings were present in the food business, thereby posing a serious risk to the safety of food in the business”.
